Guatemala, Finca Rosma, Alejandro Rosales & Family Finca Rosma is a small farm located in the San Pedro Necta area of Huehuetenango, near Michicoy town. The owner, Alejandro Rosales, inherited the land in 1963 from his father and started cultivating coffee on it over 20 years ago. He has since handed things over to his son Fredy Rosales, who now manages the farm. Many quality improvements have been made to the farm including the construction of their own coffee mill. Their coffee is wet processed, traditionally fermented, and then dried in the sun. The mill sits at the base of the property at around 1600 masl. Leading up from the mill, the majority of the farm is planted out with old Bourbon trees, a lot of Typica, and some Caturra and Catuai. The farm is located in elevations as high as 1900 masl.
This coffee is very intensely floral and fruited in it's aromatics. We enjoyed it's pleasant citrus acidity and clean fruit expression with flavors reminiscent of ripe berries and clementines.
